Variation of Ladder Braid Hairstyles

Ladder braid hairstyles have several variations with the same basic steps. This hairstyle is extremely traditional and extremely stylish. It looks wonderful on traditional sarees and salwar suits too.

  1. Tie a ponytail. You can place the ponytail anywhere you want, either at the back or either of the sides. You can you any kind of elastic as we are anyway going to hide it in the best possible way.
  2. Take 1/4th part of the ponytail and separate the rest of the hair using a clip.
  3. Divide this 1/4th section of hair into 3 strands.
  4. Start braiding a 3 strand braid. But whenever it is the chance of the strand that is next to the other section of the ponytail to come to the middle, grab a piece of hair from the back of the ponytail and add it to the strand. Make sure this strand that is added comes over the ponytail, not from behind it.
  5. Continue doing this across the length of the ponytail and secure this three strand braid at the end.
  6. It’s time to adjust the ponytail in a way that the three strand braid covers the ponytail and the ponytail is completely behind this three strand braid.
  7. Take a small section of hair from the bottom of the ponytail and wrap it around the elastic that we initially used to tie the ponytail. If your hair is thin, do this step immediately after tying the ponytail as you might not be left with any hair after braiding the ladder braid.
  8. Using another elastic secure the leftover hair at the bottom.
  9. Check the picture for the final look.

Indian hairstyles are generally unique. They are braid centered. However with the increase in the fashion knowledge, Indian hairstyles also have revolutionized. Here in this article let us look at some very beautiful hairstyles that Indian women love flaunting.

Rope Braid With a French Twist Hairstyles

French braid is the simplest of all hairstyles and this one is a variation of the French braid. This tutorial is being explained with the expectation that you know how to recreate a French braid. If you don’t, please check our previous tutorials for a detailed version.

  1. Comb your hair well and get rid of knots if any.
  2. Take a piece of hair from the centre of the forehead, divide it into 2 sections and cross them one over the other.
  3. Like a French braid, add a piece of hair from the sides to both the strands from either sides.
  4. That means, before each twist, you need to add pieces of hair to both the strands of the rope braid.
  5. Continue doing this till the whole set of loose hair is added to the braid.
  6. Once you reach the nape of the neck, twist each strand separately in the same direction before crossing the strands one over the other. This ensures the twist is tight and does not loosen up.
  7. The thickness of the pieces that you add after every twist decides the texture and look of the hairstyle. If you have time take pieces of hair of less thickness. If you lack time, you can add huge pieces of hair.
  8. This is the final look and you will absolutely love it.

Ponytail Hairstyles Using Crochet Technique

This is another hairstyle that is achieved through French braid using crochet technique, also called knot technique.

This is an elegant side swept hairstyle that you can wear on a casual basis.

  1. Brush your hair and swipe all the hair to one side.
  2. Take one inch section of hair at the top of your head which will marks the start of your braid.
  3. Here comes the interesting part. If you are new to knot technique, closely understand the hairstyle. If you know it, this hairstyle will be a cake walk.
  4. Warp the strand around your index and thumb finger to make a complete circle and then place the circle in the middle of top portion of the strand and pull it through. Don’t pull it through completely.
  5. Pull it through till a point where the index finger and thumb finger get a grip by creating another circle.
  6. Now grab another piece of hair from the loose hair below and pull it through the circle. Again do not pull it through completely. Pull till a point, a circle is made with the thumb and index finger.
  7. Continue doing this till the point where you want the ponytail to be.
  8. For the last stitch, pull the hair through the loop made by the circle completely and pull it tightly.
  9. Adjust the stitches and tie a ponytail by grabbing the whole hair.
  10. If you wish to hide the elastic, wrap a piece of hair from the ponytail around the elastic. If you wish, you can place a fancy clip to hide the elastic.
  11. And you are all set.

Reverse French Braid Hairstyles

I’m sure you might be wondering what on earth this name indicates. Unlike the complication relied in the name, the hairstyle is very simple and you can pair up this hairstyle with both traditional as well as western outfits.

Initially you might need some practice, but once you get a hang of it, this hairstyle is pretty much easy.

Here we go.

  1. Brush your hair and ensure there are no tangles.
  2. Take a section of hair from the extreme right, divide it into three parts and braid a regular three strand braid in the reverse direction i.e. in the regular three strand braid, we shift the strands in the upward direction. But here we need to shift the place of the strands in the downward direction.
  3. Like the French braid, add small portion of hair to the left strand starting from the extreme left, every time the strand needs to come to the centre. Similarly do the same with the right strand.
  4. As you continue braiding, shift the braid towards left so that the hair style is spread all over the back of the head.
  5. Secure the ends as you braid across the length of your hair. If you wish to design the hairstyle, place fancy pins or small flowers after every stitch like shown in the image.
  6. You are done and here is the finished look.

Braid with a Bun Hairstyles

This is a hairstyle that can be often seen worn by brides for engagement of reception ceremonies. There is nothing much fancy here. But the final look is amazingly elegant.

Let’s get started.

  1. Comb all the hair and secure it into a high ponytail very tightly.
  2. Divide this one full section of hair into three sections of different volumes. The middle section should be the biggest section, right section with a little less volume and the left section should be of very less volume compared to all.
  3. Consider the middle section and strart braiding a normal three strand braid in the reverse direction. Braid 2/3rd length of the hair and secure the ends with clear elastic.
  4. Now consider the right section of hair and wrap it around the braid like shown in the image. Do not concentrate hair only at the top, let it loose till it falls a bit down and continue wrapping the hair around the braid. Secure every turn using bobby pins.
  5. Take the left portion of the braid, part it into three and braid a regular three strand braid across the length of the hair. Wrap this braid along the circumference of the bun and secure the ends with bobby pins.
  6. At the end, you can accessorize the braid like shown in the image. With what you accessorize determines the output of the hairstyle.

Triple Braid Hairstyles

I have seen several brides wearing this hairstyle and the bottom line is, this hairstyle is super easy. You will not have to spend your hard earned money on your hairstylists. For this hairstyle you should have an idea of rope braid, fishtail braid, French braid and a regular three strand braid.

Here is your ticket to amazingly beautiful and funky hair style.

  1. Brush your hair and get rid of tangles that might come your way.
  2. If you want your braid to be on your left hand side, start working from the right side and vice versa.
  3. Take a small section of hair from the right and twist it around your finger and take another section of hair twist it like the earlier one and criss cross both these strands.
  4. Now take a slightly bigger section of hair, twist it around itself. Make the initially made two strands into one and the recently considered strand into the second strand. Criss cross both these strands. Keep continuing this till half of your hair comes under this braid and secure the twists with clear elastic.
  5. Try to travel towards left as you keep criss-crossing the hair.
  6. Now consider the other portion of loose hair. Take a small section of hair at the top and start a French braid. Braid the hair very loosely.
  7. As you reach the nape of your neck, unfasten the previously secured section of hair and combine both the sections.
  8. With this whole section of hair, braid a fist tail braid till you reach half of the length and secure with elastic. With the remaining length of hair, braid a regular three strand braid till the end and secure the ends.
  9. Using a scissors, cut the elastic carefully that was used after the fist tail braid.
  10. For a broader effect, pull the strands.
  11. You are all set with this beautiful triple braid.
